John Hoffner has been a US Marine since 1994. He got his start with CrossFit while attending the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor course in August of 2005.  Looking for an MMA training program to increase his fitness led to and the rest has been a long and winding road.

After his CrossFit Level 1 Trainer cert in Oct 2007 he deployed to Iraq and ran a group of CrossFitters on Balad, Iraq in spring 2008. After returning from Iraq he co-founded CrossFit Fort Meade in Aug 2008. Tiffany Hoffner

Tiffany began dabbling in CrossFit in November of 2008. After many years, her husband John finally convinced her to occasionally attend classes at CrossFit Fort Meade. Having no background in athletics or any prior interest in working out, she started slowly and made incremental but significant progress.

Throughout the process of several military moves, Tiffany’s interest in CrossFit and nutrition continued to grow. She obtained her gymnastics, mobility and Level 1 certifications in the years since and has achieved a level of fitness that she did not believe possible for herself. As a former typical office worker and sedentary individual, she is a firm believer that CrossFit is an effective training method for everyone. Most of all, she is an advocate for complete health and fitness, to include proper nutrition as the foundation of good health.

She is co-author of and an active participant in the Paleo Diet community. She is currently pursuing an MS in Dietetics through Eastern Michigan University to obtain her Registered Dietitian credential.
